Dimitri Payet admits he did not enjoy......
...his final weeks at West Ham as French star opens up on Marseille return

Dimitri Payet left West Ham in acrimonious circumstances in January
The French international rejoined Marseille in a dramatic £25m deal
He admits that he did not enjoy the Slaven Bilic's defensive style
Dimitri Payet has hit out at Slaven Bilic's defensive style of football as he reveals the reasons behind his acrimonious departure from West Ham in January.
The French star rejoined Marseille in a £25m deal earlier this year in a move that angered supporters after the manager revealed he did not want to play for the club again.
After a lacklustre end to his Hammers career, the 29-year-old already has three goals in eight appearances for his new club.

And Payet has lifted the lid on his controversial exit from the London Stadium, admitting to French newspaper L'Equipe: 'Our way of approaching matches, the defensive system put in place did not please me.
'You can say that it bothered me, yes. I got through games without any pleasure.

'I had had contact with Marseille and most notably with Rudi Garcia, who had a philosophy that I knew well. The choice was quick. If I waited six months I would lose six months.'
Payet reveals that he snapped after West Ham's fortuitous home win over Hull in December, secured thanks to a Mark Noble penalty.
The result lifted Bilic's side five points above the drop zone, but Payet knew that he risked going backwards if he remained with the Premier League club.
'With West Ham at home against Hull, we won 1-0 and they hit the post four times. In the changing room everyone was happy, but the the man of the match that day was the post.
'I thought that I would not have room for improvement. On the contrary, I risked regressing. I need another challenge.'

Sounds good but I prefer to go by the stories that he 'allegedly' got a supporter in the family way and about his wife chucking his clothes out of the window of the family home in Loughton. One too many say games I'm afraid.

As much as he'd be better served shutting his fucking mouth and having a bit of respect for the club and manager that lifted him to his very peak - Being as good as him in a side as bad as we were, I'd have wanted out as well.

Re: Dimitri Payet admits he did not enjoy......
even if you take his comments at face value, it marks him out as a massive cunt anyway.

We were struggling and playing poorly, so went a bit more defensive, and that didn't 'please' him? Wonderful stuff - actually just admitting that you're a massively unprofessional cunt.

although...his inference does seem to be that it only started when we moved to the cesspit, so he's spot on there.

Apart from the french, No one had heard of Payet prior to playing for us.

He will come up with excuse after excuse for his actions and the way the club got treated.

SG,
The ground has loads of problems but to say it started to make Payet behave like a twat isn't right. He had his head turned in the summer so wanted out wherever we played

I don't really understand why some people get so het up over what footballers do or say. I think it's pretty well establishd that they are almost universally self-centred.

I tend to regard them mostly as over paid and over indulged 16 year olds. To me their words and actions deserve as much credence and attention as that of a teenager, i.e. not a lot.

I think it's better for your own health to shrug, smile, move on and concern yourself with more important things.

'Our way of approaching matches, the defensive system put in place did not please me.' = 'I didn't like being asked to try and win the ball back after I lost it'

Blokes a pratt!

However, I do think we are a bit defensive and negative at times. We need more attacking creativity in the side and not keep passing backward all the time.

So you openly confirm that you were speaking to Marseille without the clubs permission?
